SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – LSUS seniors show off their creative projects.

The Digital Arts program of LSUS held its annual expo inside the Robinson Film Center on Thursday evening.

The class of eleven students presented their senior capstone projects, which they had been working on all year long, to a crowd that included local industry professionals along with their family and friends. The works include 3D, character, graphic, and logo design. Some of the projects also highlighted area nonprofits.

Their professor explains how the students put a little of themselves in each piece.

“I think the projects where they added their interests to whatever they are working on, those are the ones they pushed and investigated more. We’re definitely a nice place for people to come and explore their interests as far as digital arts go. The program is really growing. The classes are the perfect size to where students can interact with professors and it’s a little more meaningful,” said Rachel McDonald, assistant professor of Digital Arts.

McDonald said many of the students begin working in graphic design soon after graduating. Some move away to larger cities but many stay local and translate their skills into different businesses.
