Local And Cottage Food Safety Workshop Scheduled

On Saturday, May 12 plan to attend a free food safety workshop held at Diamond Room at Roughrider Center, 2209 Wolves Den Parkway, Watford City, ND.

What you will learn at this local and cottage food safety workshop:

• Which regulations apply to you and your product

• How to prepare yourself to meet the regulations of your local health district, the ND Cottage Foods Law, and the Federal Food Safety Modernization Act

• How to appropriately label your products

• What you can and cannot sell and how to sell it

• Good Agricultural Practices and Farm Food Safety to assist in ensuring your products are safe

• The basic records you should keep to ensure a successful food safety plan

Your state and local health district personnel will be on hand to answer questions and guide us through local regulations.

You will go home supplied with templates and worksheets designed to assist you in writing your own farm food safety plan.

This workshop will be hosted by Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture. The Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture is an exciting place for people and students interested in locally grown and organically grown vegetables. Located in the beautiful Turtle Mountains of Bottineau, North Dakota.
