Chandigarh police carried a search operation at ISBT-43 on Monday, following a “threatening letter” warning of a bomb attack on the building of District Courts Complex- 43 and Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 29.
The search operation was conducted for around two hours. Sniffer dogs and other frisking equipment were used in the operation. ISBT-43 is situated just opposite District Courts complex in Sector 43.
Several buses, hundreds of passengers and all the shops situated inside the ISBT premises were checked. Around 50 police personnel along with paramilitary forces of ITBP were engaged in the search operation, which started at 11am and was was carried out till 1.15pm.
On October 15, the Registrar of Punjab and Haryana High Court received an anonymous “threatening letter” warning of a bomb attack on the high court on October 29. A few days later, a similar letter was received at District Courts, Sector 43. Both the letters were later handed over to Chandigarh Police.
