The oversight conducted by the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia at meat shops in Vayots Dzor Province showed that meats and meat carcasses are sold with violations of the procedure established by legal acts.

Monitoring was conducted at 11 meat shops in the city of Yeghegnadzor, and the inspectors detected 9 shops where 749 kg of meats that hadn’t undergone veterinary-sanitary examination.

Executive orders have been issued to suspend sale of the detected meats and by-products.

The mandatory sale of slaughtered meats will rule out sale of such meats or reduce it to a minimum starting from July 1.
