KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Construction is going to cause some traffic issues the week of March 24 on Alcoa Highway in Knoxville, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
The department made the announcement Monday, saying a contractor would be performing rolling roadblocks all week, through Saturday. The roadblocks will happen daily, TDOT said, between Woodson Drive and Cherokee Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those roadblocks will only happen in 20-minute intervals, TDOT said.
Beyond that, TDOT also said crews would be flagging on the ramp at Cherokee Trail and along Cherokee Trail and Medical Center Way from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those who travel along Alcoa Highway are being asked to plan for a longer commute because of the delays.
