FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Burglary suspects were not-so-happy campers after a failed Fort Pierce RV dealership heist landed the traveling thieves behind bars.
Just before midnight on Saturday, Fort Pierce Police Department officers responded to an alarm at Camping World in the 2100 block of Jenkins Road after they were alerted to a man wearing all black using bolt cutters to gain entry to the RV lot.
When officers arrived, they reported the trailer lot was fully open with the lock and chain on the ground. Multiple officers were called to the scene to locate the suspects in the vast lot.
An engine revving alerted officers to a black Ford dually pickup squealing its tires and speeding out of the lot and nearly striking an FPPD officer, according to the criminal probable cause affidavit. Meanwhile, an officer spotted a second truck, a white Dodge dually, racing toward the gated area.

According to the affidavit, deputies from the St. Lucie Sheriff's Office (SLSO) were waiting at the gate and engaged in a pursuit of black Ford truck.
Deputies say the vehicle eventually stopped on the Florida Turnpike at the 156-mile marker, and the three occupants were detained.
The suspects were identified as 31-year-old Edelson Garcia of Hialeah, and two women, 30-year-old Brenda Amadori of Miami, and 22-year-old Jennifer Perera of Miami Gardens.
Camping World's alarm company shared a surveillance video with police that revealed multiple suspects in all black clothing walking back and forth between RVs.
Officers investigated the RV looking for signs of entry with Camping World's manager and didn't locate anything out of place.
Garcia was booked by police for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, fleeing or eluding, and driving on a suspended license.
In addition to his traffic charges, he was also booked for Burglary, traveling out of county to commit a burglary, grand theft of over $20K, and fleeing or eluding law enforcement.
Both Amador and Pereira were booked on charges of traveling out of county to commit a burglary, burglary, and grand theft of $20K or more.
