Shots Fired Call at Former ‘Revive Church’ Pastor’s Home, Duluth Police Still Investigating
DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth Police say they found two shattered windows “likely caused by a BB gun” when responding to a shots fired call at the home of the, now, former pastor of Revive City Church.
Around 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Duluth Police said they responded to a shots fired call at a residence on the 2000 block of Adirondack Street. Social media posts that followed the incident made the claim that the home were the shots occurred belonged to Ronald Allen and his wife October.
The incident comes after the couple, who founded Revive City Church, announced that Ronald would be resigning from his position as pastor. His resignation, amid public protests over his past criminal sexual convictions, was brought to light by a FOX 21 investigation. Court records showed Ronald pled guilty to sexually assaulting two 13-year-old girls in 2000-2001 when he was 35. He served as one of the victim’s youth pastors at Calvary Worship Center in Minnetonka, though much of the abuse occurred at his home, while the victim was babysitting his children.
In an email Wednesday morning, October confirmed to FOX 21 that she and her husband owned the home where the incident occurred.
When officers arrived at the home, they located two shattered windows. Further investigation “determined that there wasn’t any evidence to indicate a drive-by shooting. Damage was likely caused by a BB gun. This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation.”
“Weather the damage was done by a drive by or someone standing outside, our windows were SHOT OUT!!” October said in an email, “Weather it was with a BB Gun or a popsicle stick, our safety was endangered.”
Public reaction on social media has included both supporters of the Allens’ work, and those expressing anger over Ronald being allowed to hold a position of authority within a church. Some posts dated prior to the incident, appeared to express frustration in reference the Allens, and include their address.
This is a developing story that involves an active investigation.
