COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Governor Henry McMaster announced High Noon Sun Sips as the winner of this year’s Manufacturing Madness: The Coolest Thing Made in South Carolina competition.

The contest, which is sponsored by the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA), is meant to highlight products manufactured in the Palmetto State.

This year’s winner, High Noon Sun Sips, is an alcoholic juice drink manufactured by Gallo Winery in Fort Lawn. The drinks are available for purchase nationwide.

“Manufacturing drives opportunity for families and communities across our state, and we count on our manufacturing industry’s workforce to help pave our path to lasting prosperity,” said Governor Henry McMaster. ”We take great pride in what we make in South Carolina and our corporate citizens, like Gallo. We welcome every opportunity to celebrate the products made here that serve people across the country and around the world.”

Gallo opened its Fort Lawn facility in 2022 with a $423 million investment. The site manufactures 1,000 cans of High Noon per minute, featuring over 20 different flavors of vodka and tequila seltzers.

This year, the other finalists were:

  • 787 Dreamliner, a widebody passenger jet manufactured by Boeing in North Charleston.
  • ClimateCool Smartbed, a bed that actively cools and adjusts to multiple sleepers manufactured by Sleep Number in Irmo.
  • Ultra HD MicroCore SpiderWeb Ribbon Fiber Optic Cable, a connective cable that enables fast connection for media outlets manufactured by AFL in Duncan.
