Idaho Smokehouse Partners announced it is recalling about 29,541 pounds of its Original Beef Sticks and Original Turkey Sticks due to the possible presence of metal fragments.
The food items were packaged at a single facility between Jan. 16-23. They were shipped to distribution centers in California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington and then sent to various retail locations nationwide.
The product recalls include:
- 1.15-oz vacuum-sealed packages of Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild with an expiration date of 2-10-2026 and lot code 25016 printed on the label. The product has the number 6220A printed on the package.
- 13.8-oz plastic bags containing 12 1.15-oz vacuum-sealed packages of Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild. The bags have the establishment number V2059 and lot number 622025016, with an expiration date 02-10-2026. The individual sticks have an expiration date of 02-10-2026, and a lot code number of 25016, with establishment number 6220A printed on the package.
- 1.15 Original Turkey Single Stick with lot numbers P6220A 25022 or P6220A 25023. They have an expiration date of 02-17-2026.
The problem was discovered after the company notified the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) that two customers reported that pieces of metal were found in the sticks.
Anyone who purchased these products should not to consume them but throw them away instead or return them to the place of purchase.
