With Derik Queen making shots like he has ice in his veins, it’s no wonder the Maryland freshman’s new collaboration is so chill.
The Baltimore native and Terps basketball star has signed an NIL endorsement deal with Dairy Queen, maker of ice cream treats, including its iconic soft-serve Blizzards, according to a report Thursday in Cllct. Queen posted a Dairy Queen advertisement on his social media accounts, including Instagram.
Queen has also shared recent advertisements for TurboTax, DoorDash and Popeyes.
His fans already saw this coming even before the game-winning buzzer shot against Colorado State. After all with a name like Queen, it’s a royal match.
Cllct reported that the 20-year-old has already filmed a promo that features a Blizzard shake with every Maryland fan’s favorite mix-in: Turtles, the chocolate-covered caramel and pecan candy. Yum.
Details of the deal were not announced. But even fans can get their own deal right now. Blizzards are just 85 cents through April 6 at Dairy Queen, as it celebrates its 85th anniversary and launches a summertime menu.
So, Marylanders take your shot at a chill deal. It’s practically a twofer.
