CLEVELAND, Ohio – Liquid egg products that may contain a cleaning solution have been recalled, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Cargill Kitchen Solutions of Lake Odessa, Michigan, recalled approximately 212,268 pounds of the products that may contain sodium hypochlorite, the agency announced.

The items were shipped to distributor locations in Ohio and Texas and for foodservice use in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Iowa. The products also might have been distributed nationwide, FSIS said.

The items subject to recall were produced March 12-13. All are 32-ounce cartons with establishment number G1804 ink-jetted on them:

• Egg Beaters Original Liquid Egg Substitute with use-by date of AUG 10 2025.

• Egg Beaters Cage-Free Original Liquid Egg Substitute with use-by date of AUG 09 2025.

• Egg Beaters Cage-Free Original Frozen Egg Substitute and Egg Beaters No Enjauladas Original Sustituto De Huevo Congelado with use-by date of MAR 07 2026.

• Bob Evans Better’n Eggs Made with Real Egg Whites with use-by date of AUG 10 2025.

FSIS scientists said the product should not cause adverse consequences, considering the risk is negligible. But consumers who have purchased the products are urged to throw them away or return them for refund.
