Ukraine preparing third resolution to UN General Assembly on human rights in Crimea - Zerkal

Ukraine is preparing a resolution to the UN General Assembly on the state of human rights in the annexed Crimea as of the end of this year, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Olena Zerkal has stated.

"We are preparing another resolution to the General Assembly on Crimea at the end of the year," Zerkal said on the air of Channel Five.

She also noted that Ukraine is delivering its position on the rights of the Crimean Tatar population, restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine on all international platforms, including parliamentary committees and international organizations.

The deputy minister also specified that the International Court of Justice of the United Nations on the eve reminded the Russian Federation of the need to comply with the order to restore the activity of the Mejlis in the framework of Ukraine's lawsuit against Russia for violating the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism.

As reported, the UN General Assembly earlier adopted two resolutions on human rights in Crimea, on December 19, 2016 and December 19, 2017.
